Interested in a Front-End Engineering position at Canva? Vee Ciputra is a Front End Engineer at Canva who is currently in her last year of Software Engineering at the University of Auckland (UoA)! Vee started out as a Front-End intern at Canva, before getting an offer for a graduate role in April this year. Ryan and Arsham discuss the recruitment process, what it was like interning at Canva, and how she found doing an internship away from her home in Auckland! Vee also co-founded the Developers Society at UoA and discusses the process of building a society from the ground up.

In this episode of the personal project series, Angeni and Julian sit down with former CSE student and ex-CSESoc co-president, Adam Tizzone. Even though he’s recently graduated, Adam has still been actively involved in CSESoc as the project lead for the CSESoc Jobs Board. Adam shares his experiences of working on a student-led software project from inception to completion, as well as the most important things he's learnt along the way.

They reflect upon the year gone by, their favourite things CSESoc has accomplished this year and what it’s been like running the society during COVID-19. They also chat about the rewarding and challenging aspects of being Co-Presidents as well as giving some advice for next year’s exec team! In the second episode of the Getting to Know CSESoc series, Ryan and Jen sit down with CompClub directors Liv and Tim! CompClub is one of the most unique CSESoc portfolios - they run computing workshops for keen high school students and recruit mentor volunteers from the CSESoc community! They talk about what it’s like teaching high school students to code, the lessons and experiences learnt from running these workshops, and some their favourite CSESoc memories - from peer mentoring to first-year camp and road trips! As always we put to the test how well the two co-directors know each other in a game of ‘How well do you know your fellow co-director?’
